A couple of years ago, author David Whiting asked me if I would be interested in photographing scarecrows for a book. Sounded fantastic. It’s amazing how scarce these guys are. I look for working scarecrows, usually made very simply.
I have several Scarecrow Finders, including one Scarecrow Finder General, who scour the fields. Spending time alone with them can be very strange. An ongoing project, I feel that I’ve only scratched the surface. Let me know if you see one!
